Nov 8, 2016 "Living Large"

Here is what happened in the last 1.28 weeks:

We had MLC (fancy missionary meeting ) WITH THIS VIEW:

🌈 Our magical district leaders 🌈

And Halloween happened. Temple Square went on lock down and we got to watch The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe together as a mission and eat Olive Garden.

(waiting for the Olive Garden delivery)

And then we took some fancy schmancy VIP tour with some fancy schmancy US Judicial committee people (?) and during the tour we were greeted by another VIP in the Conference Center:

(it was a Captain Kirk cardboard cutout)

And then today my companion and I found this in a store:

So yeah I'm having a good time.

Besides living large tho, I've finally reached the point in my mission where I have 0 shame in sharing the gospel. It's a good feeling. This week as we taught the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ (like we always do, but) I invited a couple of people to be baptized right there at our first time meeting them on the square, during a tour. I know, I know... Why the heck did it take me this long into my mission to accomplish this? The answer is because I am a weenie. However, Heavenly Father has placed many wonderful examples in my life to show me HOW IT IS DONE, and wow, Sister Parks has been SHOWING ME HOW IT IS DONE. I finally decided that I wanted to be a kickbutt bold as brass missionary like her, and everyday that I thought about it and prayed about it, we were given wonderful people that were basically asking us, "so how do we join your church?"

The moral of the story is, that even if you are a weenie missionary like me, it's okay. We don't need to perfect. If we just admit our flaws and tell God we want to change, He will let us change. He will give us plenty of chances and opportunities to change.

How beautiful is the plan of our God.

And now we will conclude this weekly e-mail with this amazing passage from Mosiah chapter 4 in the Book of Mormon:

"1 And now, it came to pass that when king Benjamin had made an end of speaking the words which had been delivered unto him by the angel of the Lord, that he cast his eyes round about on the multitude, and behold they had fallen to the earth, for the fear of the Lord had come upon them.

"2 And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men.

"3 And it came to pass that after they had spoken these words the Spirit of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come, according to the words which king Benjamin had spoken unto them."
